Outdoor meets indoor!
Artline brings together Siebe Vanhee and Ghold: where the spirit of outdoor meets the sustainable innovation of indoor. Shared values and recyclable technologies shaping a new vision for climbing.
Siebe, the essence of outdoor
Siebe Vanhee discovered climbing at the age of nine. Very quickly, it became a true passion, a space where he could express himself and push his limits. This blend of physical effort and human connection shaped him: on one side, the pursuit of mental and physical challenge; on the other, a lifestyle of travel, discovery, and exchanges around the values of climbing. After a few years of competition, Siebe turned toward adventure and big walls, multiplying expeditions around the globe. Since 2019, he has achieved some of the most remarkable free ascents of his generation (Riders on the Storm, Voie Petit in rope solo, Orbayu…). More than an athlete, Siebe is a complete climber, guided by his values and a constant drive to progress.
Ghold and sustainable innovation
Founded in 2021 by three French climbers Hugo, Sébastien, and Benoît, Ghold was born from a simple conviction: climbing must reduce its environmental footprint. Their solution lies in a groundbreaking material: recyclable thermoplastic, capable of melting, hardening, and melting again without losing its properties. Where a classic polyurethane hold lasts only 2 to 3 years before ending up in landfill or incinerated, a Ghold material can be recycled up to ten times. Thanks to that, a hold can last 20 to 30 years and be This process cuts the carbon footprint in half from the very first recycling cycle, while maintaining the same texture quality and durability as traditional holds. The result is a concrete, high-performance, and truly sustainable alternative that is redefining the future of indoor climbing.
From Artline to Siebe
At Artline, we have always sought to combine design, performance, and responsible innovation. By collaborating with Ghold, we opened a new path toward more sustainable climbing, integrating their recyclable technology into our ranges, starting with the Mercy. The meeting with Siebe Vanhee has further strengthened this approach. As an outdoor climber deeply committed to environmental causes, he embodies the same values of respect for nature that drive both Ghold and Artline. Together, we wanted to build a bridge between two worlds that may seem opposed at first sight, outdoor and indoor, and show that climbing can evolve indoors without losing its soul or its origins on the rock. Innovating without forgetting to preserve.
